I have one moment in Godfather II. Nobody sees it. Michael and his sad brother Fredo are in Cuba, seeing the Superman show in the nightclub, and Fredo tells Michael, “Johnny always used to take me here.” And you see in that moment that Michael realizes his brother betrayed him. That’s my favorite moment. - Al Pacino
Happy 72nd Birthday Al Pacino!! | Born today — April 25th, 1940
I’m the same now as I’ve always been — sort of a recluse. People resent me for remaining myself when they think I should be acting like a superstar. I never wanted to be an actor and I don’t particularly enjoy it. I have to act. There just isn’t anything else for me. — Al Pacino

Al Pacino’s screen test for The Godfather (1972)
A little point of memorabilia, that was Marsha Lucas who was the editor, George’s wife, who cut those tests all together. And she told me, she said: “Cast Al Pacino ‘cause he undresses you with his eyes.” - Francis Ford Coppola.
I think he projects such power because of his total lack of egocentricity. A lot of actors want to be sexy, cute, adorable…do anything to win an audience to their side. Cater to their every cheap, trendy, obvious appeal that will make them laugh. Al couldn’t care less. He’s too honest, and he loves the characters he plays too deeply to go in for the that sort of thing. That’s why he can turn acting into poetry. — Jill Clayburgh

Mr. Dustin Hoffman
Now I could really understand why Al Pacino said this when he was asked if there was a movie about his life: “It would be called The Dustin Hoffman Story. When we were starting out, [Robert] De Niro, me and Hoffman were always sort of mixed up. People mistook us for each other.”
“Would you kiss me if I wear the hat?”
